Music Production
Album: Reflections
This is the first album that I have ever created. In the beginning stages I was just making what sounded good to me. Then, I found a theme and a reason for the album. I decided to make the songs useable for background music, also. However, I was not sure how to theme it. What way did I want my music go? How did I want it to affect people? Where would the music go? I discovered, while coming close the albums completion, that the songs were telling the story of Man's fall from the Garden of Eden in Genesis, from the Bible. That is where this album led. Title One: Grace
Genesis 1:1-25 (NIV)
~Here in this song we have creation and the beginning of life. A New World.
Title Two: Morning Stroll
Genesis 1:26-31 (NIV)
~This song has the feel of walking around and just enjoying what is around. Very peaceful and playful. In the Bible God had walked with Man, Adam, on Earth.
Title Three: The Tempted
Genesis 3:1-6 (NIV)
~Now Eve, Adam's wife, was walking around the garden when she had been convinced to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, which God had told Adam they must not eat of. So, this song is about how Eve was tempted by the devil to eat of this tree.
Title Four: Sin
Genesis 3:7-24 (NIV)
~At this point, eating from the tree, Adam and Eve had become aware of good and evil. This is where sin began. This piece is about the chaos the devil drags Man into.
Title Five: New Life
Genesis 4:1-4 Genesis 3:15 John 3:16 (NIV)
~I wanted to make sure the album ended with a song that wraps up the whole theme. New Life starts with some creepy sounds then moves into a chaos foundation with playful, new tones moving along with it. This is to symbolize that even though Man was now in sin that he can start something new that is filled with light and a new hope.
